Local Plan Review

We sought your views on how much development is needed in the Borough, where it should be located and how it should be managed. The consultation ran from 25 April 2018 to 5pm 11 July 2018

The consultation consisted of:

1. Local Plan Review

A non-technical booklet which was sent to all households and businesses in the Borough setting out the main issues in a summarised form, along with a questionnaire. Copies of the consultation were also available from the Gravesham Gateway, Civic Centre, Windmill Street, Gravesend and all local libraries in the borough during normal opening hours.

In addition, the consultation was available online.

We also welcomed views on both of the Regulation 18 (Stage 1) Part 1 and Part 2 documents and the supporting evidence.

2. Regulation 18 (Stage 1) Part 1 Site Allocations Document

This document examined broad options for meeting additional development needs through to 2028 and considered updates needed to the existing Gravesham Local Plan Core Strategy (2014).

3. Regulation 18 (Stage 1) Part 2 Development Management Policies Document

This document set out detailed draft policies which could be used to consider applications for planning permission and these cover a range of different topics. When adopted (following an examination), these policies would replace those policies currently used that have been ‘saved’ from the Gravesham Local Plan First Review (1994).

Please note you can view the Regulation 18 consultation and all associated documents related to the consultation online.

What’s next?

We'll be reviewing all the responses received and a summary of these responses will be reported to Members in Autumn 2018. During 2018/2019 we'll also gather further evidence and together with the consideration of responses received will prepare Regulation 18 Part 2 consultation documents which will be consulted upon in Autumn 2019.
