Riverside Festival

General information

THOUSANDS of people were at the Prom, Gravesend, on Saturday 22 July for the Gravesham Riverside Festival. Despite the rain half way through the event everyone was still smiling and enjoying themselves and there was lots of dancing in the rain too.

"Money for nothing" the Dire Straits tribute band, were first up on the main stage followed by The Chaps who are a local band, Next up was Killers Tribute, Bruno Mars tribute and then 90's band Big Brovaz followed by headliners S Club Party who sang lots of their hits including reach, Don't Stop Moving and S Club Party. The main stage was sponsored by Hatten Wyatt Solicitors and Advocates.

In the Fort Gardens there was lots going on too including Donkey Rides, Bird of prey displays and a mobile petting zoo. Live music, organised by Elephant Music, filled the Band Stand too with lots of local bands including the Unknown and Big river.

Mayor of Gravesham Harold Craske said: "What a successful event, it was lovely to see thousands of families enjoying the entertainment throughout the day. Our local performers did us so proud and having headliners such as S Club Party and Big Brovas really topped the day off on a musical high. A huge amount of effort goes in to the organising of an event such as the Riverside Festival and I think the council staff did an amazing job. I particularly enjoyed all of the extra bits of entertainment too including the activities in the fort gardens and the vegetable characters competition.

This event was supported Hidsons, G & M Motors and Apple MG.
