The following contains information on how to pay the parking ticket, how to appeal and what happens if payment is not made.If you receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN), please do not ignore the notice. Do not pay the Civil Enforecement Officer (CEO) they are not authorised to accept any payments. If payment of the penalty charge notice is received within 14 days of the date of issue (as shown on the ticket), the reduced charge will be accepted as settlement. The reduced charge is dependant on the severity of the contravention. New Tariff's for Penalty Charges Higher Tariff for more serious contraventions | Lower Tariff for less serious contraventions | £70 (£35 if paid within 14 days) | £50 (£25 if paid within 14 days) |
If payment is not received within 14 days, you will be required to pay the full amount of the notice. If no payment is received within 28 days of the date of issue, a Notice to Owner may be sent to the registered keeper of the vehicle requesting payment. The Notice to Owner will also describe how to make formal representations regarding the issue of your Penalty Charge Notice. How to pay By post Make your cheque or postal order payable to Gravesham Borough Council, write the Notice Number printed on the front of the PCN (to avoid errors), complete the slip on the bottom of your PCN and send it with your cheque or postal order. All postal payments must be sent to: Gravesham Borough Council The Parking Office Civic Centre Windmill Street Gravesend Kent DA12 1AU By telephone Credit/Debit card payments can be made by phoning 01474 33 7000. Credit card payments will include an handling fee. In person at the Civic Centre An automated Payment Kiosk is located in the main foyer of the Civic Centre. Payment can be made by debit / credit card or cash. A small handling charge will be added to credit card transactions. There is also a 'Cheque Drop Box' next to the Kiosk. Please ensure you complete and return the slip on the bottom of your PCN and use the envelopes provided. Online via the website You can now pay online via the council's secure payments system 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please have your PCN reference number available. link). A small handling charge will be added to credit card transactions. You can view the value of the payment required by using the GM Reference number on your ticket. See the Penalty Charge Notice Payment link. Internet Banking If you use Internet Banking you can set up a single transaction transfer to our account online. Remember to quote your PCN reference number. Please quote the Notice Number and the vehicle registration number shown on the PCN. If your enquiry is received after 14 days, you will lose the opportunity to pay the reduced charge.
