The council offers a huge range of services and the aim is to deliver services promptly and efficiently. Here's a list of just some of the main services the council provides together with our promises on how and when we will carry them out.

The council promises:

  1. Refuse collection- the council will collect refuse and recycling on the stated day of collection between  and
  2. Rubbish spillage - the council will remove any spillage from split bags
  3. Missed refuse collections - the council will collect any missed collections within one working day of being reported
  4. Graffiti task force - report graffiti to our team and we will remove it. We aim to remove offensive graffiti within 24 hours and other graffiti within two working days.
  5. Bulky rubbish collection- The council collects larger items such as furniture for £20. Excludes items like doors, bathroom suites and house clearances.
  6. Metal collection- Items such as washing machines, cookers, bed frames. There is a £10 charge for this service.
  7. Fridge / Freezer collection- Due to new European legislation concerning the disposal of harmful CFC gasses, the council make a £10 charge for this service.
  8. Refuse collection- Contact us by using this form for information on what day your refuse will be collected
  9. Flytipping- We urge you to report any incidents of flytipping as soon as possible
  10. Street litter- Let us know of any street litter and we will clear it up as soon as possible
  11. Clinical waste(from domestic premises) - This is defined as medical waste that has been in contact with bodily fluids. See the link below (Refuse collection) for further details and to request a sharps box/yellow bags
  12. Council housing repairs - the council will carry out emergency repairs as soon as possible after they are reported.
  13. Non-emergency repairs to council houses- the council will discuss non-emergency repairs with the tenant and, if the council is responsible, arrange for the repairs to be carried out.
  14. Abandoned cars - once reported the council will inspect the vehicle and place a notice giving seven days (if it's on a highway, 15 days on private land) to remove it or it will be collected as soon as possible after that deadline.

Request for pest treatment - within remit of the treatment service offered by Gravesham Borough Council

  • First contact by contractor to customer by end of next working day
  • Appointment to be offered within two working days of first contact
