CAMS win prestigious award
The Cobham Ashenbank Management Scheme proudly picked up an award for the restoration of Cobham Park and the Darnley Mausoleum, at The Georgian Group Architectural Awards 2008.The award, which was presented to the group on Wednesday 5 November, during a lavish ceremony at Christie's, in London, recognised the level of excellence that was delivered at each stage of the restoration process. David Nessling, the Chair of the Project Team, said 'We are immensely proud to have the work at Cobham Park recognised at a national level. It is a fitting tribute to the skills and diligence of our contractors PAYE Stonework & Restoration Ltd and architects Purcell Miller Tritton' The architectural awards, which celebrate conservation projects around the country, also presented awards for the restoration of a Georgian country house, Georgian building in an urban setting, re-use of a Georgian building, new building built in a Georgian context, new building built in a classical tradition and for the restoration of a Georgian church. Other projects recognised at the awards included St Paul's Cathedral, in London, New Pavilion, in Dorset and The Former Garrison Chapel, at Pembroke Dock.
