Gravesham Arts Council (The Arts Council) came into being in 1968 as a result of a request from the Gravesham Borough Council for such a body to be set up. The Arts Council is an umbrella and liaison organisation for all arts and cultural interests in the Borough of Gravesham. Currently it has a membership of approximately 30 organisations and several individual members. We are a non-professional theatre company whose objective is to stimulate and encourage an interest in the dramatic arts by producing plays of all types to the highest possible standard. M & C Art Group
Meet on the second Wednesday and fourth Saturday of the month at Chalk Parish Hall, Lower Chalk Road, Gravesend DA12 2ND. The group paint for fun and work with a whole variety of media, in many different styles.  The members cover a wide spectrum of experience and ability although they are not a competitive group - on the contrary they are a very friendly and sociable crowd!

The Gravesend Art Group has been in existence for about 50 years. It has more than 60 members and meets once a week, indoors in the winter and outside in the summer. Members paint in oils, water colour, pastels,acrylics and mixed media, The group organises an annual holiday, exhibitions and other events. There is currently a waiting list for membership. The Marlowe Singers were founded in 1982 by Peter Marlowe. We are the only chamber choir in the Gravesham borough.
