The Latest Position on the Local Development Framework - January 2012

The recent public consultation exercise on the Gravesham Growth Scenarios and Core Strategy and Background documents finished on 22 December 2011.

Gravesham Growth Scenarios and Core Strategy - Regulation 25 Update Consultation

Officers are considering the responses received to this consultation and it is intended to report the main issues raised to Members in March 2012.  Members will need to decide on the level of growth that should be accommodated in the Borough over the next 20 years and which strategic sites should be allocated for development to meet this level of growth. These decisions will determine the Council's final version for the Core Strategy (the Regulation 27 version).

There will be a fresh public consultation before the Core Strategy is submitted for public examination. An independent Planning Inspector will examine soundness of the document and recommend changes, as necessary, before the Core Strategy is adopted. The timetable for these events is set out in the Local Development Scheme which can be viewed using the link below.

Local Development Scheme

The Local Development Scheme sets out the Council's intentions and a timetable for delivering the Core Strategy and the Site Allocations and Development Management Polices DPD and other  key documents in the Gravesham Local Development Framework.  You can view a copy the current Local Development Scheme below.

Annual Monitoring Report (AMR)

The AMR is produced at the end of every year (December) and assesses progress on the Local Development Framework and whether local policy objectives and targets are being met for the preceding financial year (April - March).
