Gravesham's planning issues and general advice available at the Planning Portal.
The Planning Portal is the place to find out about the planning system in England and Wales. It is aimed at everyone, from central and local government to planning professionals and residents. At the Planning Portal you can:
- read the latest planning news.
- determine if planning permission is required and how you go about obtaining it.
- access the development plans, regulations and guidance notes upon which the application and appeal procedures are based.
The portal also explains how and why to apply for planning permission and much more.
- The Planning Portal Guide section provides a brief introduction to the planning system. It includes general guidance about the kinds of work you need planning permission for. It is intended for both householders and business people.
- In the Make an Application section you can create electronic applications. The council can accept applications submitted electronically. To use this service register with the Planning Portal website. You can also use the portal's online applications service to purchase a site location plan to accompany your application.
- 1APP - Are you aware of the biggest change to the planning system in decades? 1APP will change the way you submit planning applications to Gravesham Borough Council via the portal. To learn more visti the Planning Portal - 1APP.
- The Planning Portal Appeals section provides guidance on the Appeals process. If you seek permission to carry out works and your application isn't decided within a set period or you get a decision from your local council that you disagree with, you have a right to appeal.
- The Planning Portal Research section is aimed at planning professionals and those with an in-depth interest in planning policy and reform. Obtain information on issues including the Government's Planning Reform Programme, Parliamentary answers and statements on planning matters and download Planning Policy Guidance Notes (PPGs), Regional Planning Guidance notes (RPGs) and Good Practice Guides.
