Local and parish elections 2023

On Thursday 4 May 2023, elections are being held for all Gravesham seats in all 17 wards and the six parish councils.

If you are interested in standing as a candidate in any of these elections, you can find the relevant nomination papers and guidance from the returning officer below:

Election timetable

Here are some key dates in the timetable for the elections:

Publication of the Notices of Election that start the formal election period  Friday 17 March
Start of period for delivery of nomination papers between 10am and 4pm daily (except weekends and bank holidays) From Monday 20 March
Last date for the delivery of nomination papers 4pm on Tuesday 4 April
List of candidates standing in any contested parish elections will be published on Wednesday 5 April
List of candidates standing in the local election will be published on Wednesday 5 April
Last date for receipt of applications to register in time to vote in the elections Monday 17 April
Last date for receipt of new applications for a postal vote (or to amend an existing postal vote) for the elections 5pm on Tuesday 18 April
Last date for receipt of applications to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf 5pm on Tuesday 25 April

All electors in the 2023 register of electors will be eligible to vote in the local and any contested parish elections, except for any electors registered as overseas electors.

Existing electors do not need to re-register for these elections.

To vote in this election and any further elections, you must bring accepted photo ID with you to the polling station.
