Find out about the Mayor's "Beating the Bounds" walk and how to get involved on 8 and 9 October 2022.
About the event
A 32 mile walk exploring the area around Gravesham. Beating the Bounds is an ancient tradition dating back around 2000 years when there were no maps. Local people would walk the boundaries of their local parish to mark it with their willow wands. The walk starts in Ebbsfleet, going through Longfield and Vigo and reaching Luddesdown at the end of the first day. Day two then starts in Luddesdown going past Higham and Chalk and finishing in Gravesend.
The walk will be taking place over two days - Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 October 2022. You are able to join for just one or both days.
Day one starts at 9am at Ebbsfleet United FC and ends at the Golden Lion at Luddesdown.
Day two starts at the Golden Lion at Luddesdown and ends either at the Ship and Lobster Public House or you can also enjoy a short boat ride from there to The Three Daws.
The cost of the walk is £10 for adults and £5 for children, any sponsorship paid will be donated to charity.
