We're consulting on our Gambling Policy, for the period 31 January 2019 to 30 January 2022

Your notice is drawn to section 166(1) of the Gambling Act 2005 which states that a licensing authority may resolve not to issue casino premises licences within its boundaries. At the meeting of full Council in December 2015, a ‘no casinos’ resolution was passed. This resolution must also be considered for renewal every three years. I would be grateful if you could let me know whether you support this particular stance in any response you send. Reference is made to this within Section 8 of the draft Policy.

All comments should be sent by email to by 23 October 2018, making sure to include reference to the corresponding section(s) of the policy and page number(s) where appropriate.

All responses received by this date will be taken into consideration for inclusion in the final draft that will be presented to Full Council for adoption on 4 December 2019.
