3. Financial support and grant funding

$100m Facebook Small Business Grants Programme

30,000 businesses in 30 countries are estimated to be eligible to apply. The fund is aimed at businesses employing between 2 and 50 employees affected by COVID-19, to help with workforce, rent, customer connection and operational costs. Sport England Coronavirus Support Package

Sport England is making up to £195 million of funding available to help the sport and physical activity sector through the ongoing Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.

The Prince’s Trust and NatWest Enterprise Relief Fund (18 to 30-year olds)

The £5million Enterprise Relief Fund will offer grants to 18 to 30-year olds across the UK who are self-employed and/or running their own business. In conjunction with cash grants, the initiative will offer one-to-one support and guidance to anyone who needs it and who may be worried about their future.

Innovate UK is also hosting webinars for Young Innovators as part of their #IdeasMeanBusiness programme: tools for growing your business idea (30 Apr) and the Young Innovators Awards: What is innovation? (7 May)

Arts Council England Launch £160m Covid-19 Emergency Funding

Arts Council England (ACE) has announced a £160 million funding package to help individuals and organisations working in the cultural sector during the Covid-19 crisis, including those not already part of the Arts Council’s National Portfolio. Act fast, registration closes Mon 13April.

COVID19 Film and TV Emergency Relief Fund

The BFI and The Film + TV Charity have partnered to create a new industry-backed COVID-19 Film and TV Emergency Relief Fund to help support the creative community, established with a £1m donation from Netflix and extended with a £500,000 donation from the BBC. To be the first to hear when the fund launches, applicants should register for the charity’s mailing list

Support for Charitable Organisations

  • Chancellor’s £750m Coronavirus Funding Package for UK’s Charities: On the 8 April, a £750m package of additional financial support for UK charities was announced and will be further added to by grants being made to the National Lottery Community Fund and the National Emergencies Trust where public pledges made in response to the BBC’s Big Night In later in April, will be added to.
