3. Make it - Art Grants

The council is keen to support local artists and creatives through the delivery of a new grants programme. We are inviting project proposals which react to the current situation in an imaginative and engaging way.

The proposals must encourage community participation whilst pertaining to the current lockdown guidelines. The project can have a physical outcome if desired.

Submissions are encouraged from artists and creatives who live or regularly work within the borough, professional or amateur who have experience of working within the community and can deliver high quality and accessible projects.

The total project fee is up to £1000

Project proposal

The project proposal must achieve the following objectives:

  • To develop creative engagement opportunities for Gravesham communities during the lockdown period
  • Offer a high quality, stimulating and inclusive activity for all ages and abilities to engage with
  • Be realistic and achievable
  • Develop your own artistic practise

How to apply

Do try to include the following information:

  • what you'd like to do
  • project timeline
  • how you plan to deliver your project
  • who your project is targeted at
  • how your project will develop your practice
  • previous experience delivering a project like this

Please include an outline budget with your proposal.

Selection: A selection panel will review submissions and may invite a shortlist to take part in an on-line interview to answer any questions that may arise from the panel.

What to expect if you are selected: Successful submissions will be informed in writing and required to sign and return a Condition of Funding Agreement before any funds are processed. 90% of agreed funds will be issued and the final payment of 10% will be made once a Funding Evaluation Form has been returned to us. In accepting this grant offer, you agree to the publicly acknowledge our support by using the council logo on all publicity which in turn must be approved by the council prior to release. Additional conditions of funding may apply.
