Privacy Notice update
Our Council Tax Privacy Notice has been updated in response to legal and business developments associated with sharing personal information held on our Council Tax database with the Office of National Statistics (ONS) (a statutory body), on monthly basis from 23 February 2021.
The information we will share with the ONS will include general, special category and criminal offence information, which you have provided to us for the purposes of our Council Tax functions.
The ONS will use your personal information for statistical purposes only, to fulfil its legal obligations under the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007 and the Census Act 1920. The ONS's use of your personal information will be neither invasive nor detrimental to you.
The ONS will keep your personal information for the minimum period necessary. Information will be destroyed by the ONS in line with HM Government guidelines, General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.
