What is RingGo?

RingGo is simply another payment method when parking. RingGo gives you the option to pay for your parking via your mobile, either using RingGo’s mobile app or by phoning their automated line.

In our pay & display car parks or within our on-street pay & display parking bays, in which you pay on arrival, this is the only way that a cashless payment can be made.

In our Automatic Number Place Recognition (ANPR) car parks, which are pay on exit, the RingGo PayLater option is available, in addition to the option to pay by cash, card or contactless at the pay stations located withing the car park.

There is a 20p convenience fee added to every RingGo transaction, on top of the standard charges.

How to register

You can pre-register with RingGo either by using:

  • the RingGo smartphone app (downloadable free of charge either through your mobile device or from the relevant app store)
  • or on the RingGo website

If you pre-register for the service you will be asked to provide:

  • The number plate, colour and make of your vehicle
  • Your payment card details

Alternatively you can register at the same time you want to park, either by using the RingGo app or by calling the RingGo number which is 01474 730096.

When entering your vehicle registration, it is crucial that you enter the correct vehicle registration details. If you enter your vehicle registration incorrectly, your RingGo session will not display when scanning your correct vehicle registration. This can result in a Penalty Charge Notice (parking fine) in our pay & display car parks or being asked to make payment to exit our ANPR car parks. A common error is using a zero in place of a letter O and vice versa. A standard UK registration is two letters, two numbers and three letters.

Where you can park using the app

RingGo is available for use in both our ANPR car parks and our Pay & Display car parks, but the process differs between the two car park types. RingGo can also be used in our on-street pay & display areas. Below is a list of location codes for our car parks. Information on on-street parking locations can be found here.

How to use it

RingGo is available for use in both our ANPR car parks and our Pay & Display car parks, but the process differs between the two car park types.

ANPR car parks - pay on exit

How RingGo PayLater works:

  • The ANPR camera will record your time of arrival.
  • Open the RingGo app or go to the RingGo website when you return to your vehicle.
  • Select the correct location code (displayed in the location you are parking).
  • Select the duration of your stay.
  • Pay for your stay before leaving the car park.
  • Drive to the barrier and exit the car park.

If you have not entered the correct duration, the barrier will not open. You will then need to either enter the RingGo app or website again or use the contactless card option at the barrier to pay the balance for your parking.

Pay & Display car parks - pay on arrival

How paying on arrival works:

  • Open the RingGo app or go to the RingGo website when you park your vehicle.
  • Select the correct location code (displayed in the location you are parking).
  • Select the duration of your stay.
  • Pay for your stay.
  • Remember to return to the vehicle before the end of your stay.

Please ensure a valid parking session is obtained before leaving your vehicle, in the same way a pay & display ticket would be purchased and displayed before leaving the vehicle. Whilst RingGo gives the option to pay via phone/app etc., it is not a facility to start parking sessions later. If no parking session is active when your vehicle is observed parked, the vehicle is liable to receive a Penalty Charge Notice (parking fine).

How much it costs

There is a 20p convenience fee added to every RingGo transaction, on top of the standard charges. Text confirmations for session bookings and text expiry reminders have an additional fee of 10p per text. These text reminders are optional and can be switched on or off in the My Account settings. Car park charges can be seen on our car parks page and on-street charges can be seen on our on-street parking page.

The cashless parking number is charged at local call rate and calls and outgoing SMS text messages are charged according to your service provider.
