Whilst using PublicAccess is the quickest way to get your comments logged against an application, if, for some reason PublicAccess is not available, you can email with your comments and name and address.

On-street parking

As well as our car parks, there are a number of on-street locations in the vicinity of the town centre that offer short stay pay and display parking for a maximum of up to two hours.

On-street pay and display parking is offered in the following roads:

  • Berkley Road
  • Bernard Street
  • Clifton Road
  • Cobham Street
  • Darnley Street
  • Edwin Street*
  • Harmer Street
  • Milton Place
  • Overcliffe
  • Peacock Street*
  • Saddington Street
  • St James’s Road
  • St James’s Street
  • Stuart Road
  • The Grove*
  • Wellington Street*

*sections of the road only, please refer to parking signs.

Charges apply between the hours of 8:00am – 6:30pm, Monday to Saturday. In most locations, outside of these hours there is a permit holders only restriction – pay and display tickets or RingGo sessions are not valid during permit holders only times. The signs on street will confirm any other restrictions outside of the pay and display charging hours.

Pay and display tickets and RingGo sessions are only valid in the bays signposted.


There is a minimum charge of 70p for up to 30 minutes, then linear charging of 2p per minute (rounded to the nearest 5p) up to a maximum of 2 hours for £2.50. Some examples are below.

How to pay

You can pay using coins at the ticket machines (no change given). We also offer the option to pay for your parking with your mobile using the RingGo option. For more details see our Pay for parking with your mobile page. The RingGo location codes are provided on the machines in each location.
