Gravesham Borough Council is delivering fishing coaching sessions this summer. Shorne Woods Country Park, Brewers Road, Shorne DA12 3HX No previous experience necessary, equipment and day passes are provided but booking is essential. Children must be accompanied by an adult but book child’s place only. Spaces are £4. Ages 5 to 15 Mondays 8 and 15 August Session times available are: 10 -11.15am, 11.30am - 12.45pm, 1.15 - 2.30pm, 2.45 - 4pm Gifted Young Gravesham (GYG) will be hosting a big afternoon of music, dancing and laughter to launch their new film ‘Report It! Say No to Hate Crime’ The event will feature music performed by local young people hosted by Capital Radio Host DJ Teeshow. There will be stallholders representing youth organisations and groups against Hate Crime along with food and drink vendors. The event, organised by The Grand and Kent County Council’s Youth Open Access Team, in partnership with, the Violence Reduction Unit and Kent Police and Gravesham Borough Council is FREE to attend but you will need a ticket to enter.

Junior parkrun is a FREE weekly 2km run taking place around the Riverside Leisure Area, organised by volunteers for the benefit of everyone. The runs are timed, so participants can challenge themselves each week against their own time or just participate for fun. Taking part is free, but participants must
register before their first
run
. Once registered, runners will receive a barcode which they will need to print and bring to the run. Northfleet Big Local, supported by Gravesham Borough Council, are delivering FREE football skills sessions for children aged 6+ during the summer holidays. FREE nature themed activity trail at Camer Park. Drop in any time between 11am and 3pm and follow the fun clues to different locations and answer questions relating to the natural environment. Join us for a FREE I Spy event at Gravesend Prom, drop in any time between 11am and 3pm and become a wildlife explorer and discover the different species within Gravesend Prom. Using the I Spy guide tick off and get points for the wildlife you see. Learn about the local wildlife and see if you can spot them all! Pond dipping is a fun and educational activity which allows you to explore the wildlife that lurks in and around ponds. Equipment provided and the session is FREE, but booking is essential. Children must be accompanied by an adult but only book child’s space. Presented by The Reading Agency and delivered in partnership with libraries, join the Gadgeteers to discover the amazing science and innovation behind the world around you, including some of your favourite things! Running between July and early September, children can sign up to the Summer Reading Challenge to read library books over the summer period. They can read anything from the library, including stories, information books, audiobooks, eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and more. Read six books to complete the Summer Reading Challenge and receive a medal and certificate (while stocks last). And it’s all for free!

Ages 4 to 17 Saturday 9 - 10am Northfleet Eagles football club are an England FA Accredited Club in Gravesham providing football and fitness training for 4 to 17 year olds at various venues across the borough. We would like to recruit new players and next season are looking to run teams from Under 6 up to Under 18 and are also looking to train new coaches enabling parents to be part of the club too. We will be running FREE sessions for boys and girls from 4 years old upwards during the summer holidays at different venues between 9 - 10am Saturday mornings.
