If you have received a summons, this means we have not received your business rates payments as requested on your bill.

Due to the pandemic the court has changed its procedures. You cannot attend court on the date of the hearing unless you have contacted us first. This is because the court has asked us to provide a list of all cases to be decided by the magistrates before the hearing.

If you think you have an arguable case and wish to attend a hearing please email rates@gravesham.gov.uk with your business rates account number and hearing date.

We will then contact you before the hearing date.

If you accept that you are liable to pay but are having difficulty paying please call us on 01474 33 77 00 and make an arrangement to pay.

You do not need to attend court if you make an arrangement.

If you think you should be receiving a relief, discount or exemption from business rates please see Business Discounts and Reliefs for details of the reliefs available and how to apply.

You do not need to attend court as we will contact you about your application before the hearing date.
