Gravesend Town Centre Pedestrian Area is closed to all traffic between 10am and 8pm daily.
This covers the following roads:
- New Road
- Windmill Street
- King Street
- High Street
There is also restricted access between 10.30am and 4.30pm at Manor Road
Each day delivery vehicles must:
- have left the pedestrian area by 10.00am
- not arrive until after 8.00pm
Except for
- emergency services
- emergency utility works
- security deliveries
- working Royal Mail vehicles
- Gravesham Borough Council refuse teams
All other access to the pedestrian zones between 10am and 8pm require a permit.
We allow commercial vehicles to park with a dispensation permit in the pedestrian area of Gravesend, but only where the vehicles are essential to enable the following works to be carried out:
- maintenance, building, excavation and demolition works
- oversize furniture removal
- glaziers involved in emergency repair work
- plumbers, electricians and gas fitters on emergency call outs
Permits are free of charge but must be applied for in advance online.
