From April 2023 the rules for self-catering properties changed.

These changes affect properties as ‘Airbnb’s’ which aren’t anyone’s main home but are available for short term commercial lets.

The owners of such properties will be liable to pay council tax unless they meet specific letting requirements.

More information can be found on GOV.UK's changes to business rates rules for self-catering properties page, which details government guidance on self-catering properties.

We do not decide the banding of your property or whether it should be included in the business rates or council tax list. You must contact that valuation office if you have any questions.
