Changes to your online account


Citizen Access online accounts will be unavailable from 3am till 10am on Tuesday 17 November. This is due to an upgrade to the platform.

Citizen Access is our Council Tax website. With an online Council Tax account you can:

  • view your payment history
  • view a breakdown of charges and payments in previous years
  • view copies of letters we’ve sent to you
  • view copy bills
  • switch to paperless billing
  • apply for a Single Person Discount

You'll need your Council Tax account number, name and postcode when you create your account.

Check your balance

You can check your balance in two ways:

New account

If you are setting up your account for the first time, check your junk mail in case the activation email has been sent there.

New build home

If you have just moved into a new build home, your property may not yet be banded and you will not be able to register on Citizen Access Online.

Getting help

Contact Customer Services if you need any help. Select 'something else' and provide as much information including:

  • Your name
  • Address of your property
  • Council Tax account number
  • other relevant details 
  • regarding your query including screen shots of error messages where possible
