In April 2024, all local authorities were sent a letter from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC), following on from the Local Government Finance Settlement, requesting all councils produce, and publish, a productivity plan.
The productivity plan will be used to help government to identify what is currently working well across the whole of local government, what the common themes are, whether there are any gaps and what more the government needs to do to unlock future opportunities.
In preparing its productivity plan, the council has considered the following themes:
- Use of resources - transforming the way in which services are delivered and designed
- Use of technology and data to support service delivery and design
- Use of resources – monitoring spend and use of staffing resources
- Barriers to service delivery to be addressed
The productivity plan has been approved by the Leader of the Council and the Chief Executive.
