The Planning Portal website provides advice on how to apply for planning permission.

Local List of Validation Requirements

The Council has consulted upon and will now adopt its own Local List of Validation Requirements, which sets out what types of drawings and supporting information are required for a wide range of application types.

This will apply to all planning and related applications submitted from 1 April 2020 onwards, and can be found at the following webpage:

  • Savings in time and money
  • A direct application to us

Apply by Post

You can also make your application by post. First you will need to download the relevant form from the Planning Portal website. Then you will need to send the form and plans to us at:

Planning Department, Civic Centre, Gravesend, Kent, DA12 1AU

If you live or have a business in the Ebbsfleet Development Corporation's area, you will need to send the form and plans to them at:

The Observatory, Castle Hill Drive, Castle Hill, Ebbsfleet Valley, DA10 1EE

Map Extracts

All planning applications need a site location plan which shows the proposal in its surrounding context and enables us to identify the land covered by the application.

We work in partnership with Getmapping - an authorised Ordnance Survey licensed map supplier - to provide map extracts to accompany planning applications.

You can either download a set of maps directly from the Getmapping website or request a set of maps from us which you can either collect or have posted to you. If you would like us to provide you with a set of maps then you will need to complete an online form along with the required fee.

The form takes 5 minutes to complete.

We'll ask you for

  • Your contact details
  • Your address
  • The site address for the map extract
  • Your payment details

Once you complete the form, we shall aim to get back to you within 5 working days.
