Apprenticeship scheme

We offer a wide range of apprenticeship opportunities across the council from waste management, council tax and benefits, committee and election services, housing and many more. We'll provide all the experience and training you need for you to learn on-the-job whilst you earn money, and gain a recognised qualification.

Apprenticeships can take between one and four years to complete depending on the level of apprenticeship and the department you're working with.

Anyone living in England, over 16 years-old and not in full-time education can be an apprentice. However we are particularly committed to offering apprenticeships to 16-19 year olds from our local community.

By employing apprentices we aim to:

  • Ensure we have a highly skilled and motivated workforce to meet the business needs of the future
  • Fill skills gaps that are evidenced through workforce development and succession planning
  • Ensure we support the local community by creating employment opportunities and developing the skills of young people in the borough
  • Involve the local community in delivering our services

Our latest apprenticeship opportunities can be viewed on the Kent Training and Apprenticeships (KT&A) website.
