From the people that launched Scores on the Doors for eating establishments, Paws on the Doors, has been launched for animal licensing.

In 2018 the Government introduced licensing regulations, and a star rating scheme for animal establishments. These included dog breeders, kennels, dog home boarders, dog day care, catteries, horse riding, pet shops and the exhibition of animals.

Now, from the people that launched Scores on the Doors for eating establishments, a new Animal Licensing website, has been launched.

Paws on the Doors enables pet lovers to make informed decisions when selecting kennels, pet boarding and a whole host of other pet services just like they currently do when choosing where to eat.

Rather than rely on word of mouth, the new website will enable consumers to search across council boundaries, check that operators are legitimately licensed and find out what star rating they have.

The information on the Paws on the Doors website is provided directly from the Licensing departments in local councils and is presented in an easy to navigate website.

Paul Hiscoe, Managing Director of Animal Insight said: “We are confident that Paws on the Doors will have a massive impact on animal welfare, as the scheme will encourage businesses to achieve the top ratings so as to attract pet owners across the country, exactly as Scores on the Doors dramatically improved compliance to Food Hygiene regulations when it was launched.”

Gravesham Borough Council is one of the first local authorities in England to take part in the scheme.

Cllr Emma Morley, Gravesham Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Operational Services, said: “I am sure that Paws on the Doors will improve animal welfare as customers are able to make an informed choice as to which animal business they use, and that it will promote local businesses who work hard to keep their welfare standards high.”
