Artwork at the hive

Local residents and visitors can get their first look at a new feel for one of Northfleet’s best known estates at Halloween at the Hive later this month.

The first phase of improvement works will be unveiled at the Hive on 30 October from 3pm-5pm at the under croft.

Families can also take part in a messy play/spooky art session at unit 13/14 or just enjoy a boogie at the Halloween disco.

The first phase of improvements includes new play equipment, artwork painted by local artist Luke Smile, and new lighting.

The event will also showcase the revamped Hive signs which have been produced using artwork from local children who attended family art classes during the summer holidays.

Issuing the invitation, Cllr John Burden, the Leader of Gravesham Borough Council, said: “This is an important day for The Hive, with much-anticipated improvements which have been developed in consultation with residents being unveiled.

“Please do join us to celebrate these important works which celebrate our local history and heritage while encouraging residents and visitors to use this vital local shopping centre and support local businesses.”

The works have been designed by Levitt Bernstein Architects and delivered by Rosherville Limited in partnership with SafePlay.
