After the success of our mini pop-up exhibition on Gravesend Town Pier in August 2025, we’re very excited to be bringing The Great British Summer Holiday Exhibition back in July.
St George's Centre will be hosting an exhbition from Tuesday 7th to Sunday 19th July 2026.
The theme of the exhibition is the history of the Great British Summer Holiday, from day trips in the Victorian era, the introduction of the summer holiday camp, to the resurgence of the popularity of the staycation in the early 2020s.
We are inviting you to submit up to 3 pieces work, anyone can submit work.
Your submission
We welcome work in both 2D and 3D media, including (but not limited to):
- Painting
- Drawing
- Printmaking
- Photography
- Collage
- Recycled materials and sculpture
- Crochet, knitting, or felting
- Pottery
All submissions must respond clearly to the theme, for example, think: the Kentish seaside, postcards, beach balls, ice creams, deck chairs, vintage travel posters, end of pier entertainment, beach huts etc.
This open call is open to everyone, but artwork must not have been exhibited with us before.
There is a small fee of £10 per selected artwork.
Artists are welcome to sell their work during the exhibition, and no commission will be taken.
Submission requirements
Please ensure you include:
- Your name and contact details
- The title of each artwork
- A short description (including materials used)
- The artist name to be displayed
- The sale price, or NFS if the work is not for sale
