Leigh Francis’ Record Club has been unveiled as the headline act at this year’s Riverside Festival in Gravesend on Saturday 4 July.

Riverside Festival 2026 is back, staged by Gravesham Borough Council and sponsored by Gravesham Community Leisure Limited (GCLL).

The event is a whole day of free family fun and music at Gordon Promenade and Fort Gardens will culminate in a high energy party, blending classic hits from the 80s to the 00s with comedy and crowd interaction featuring some of Leigh's iconic characters and a heavy dose of nostalgia.

Leigh is one of the UKs best known faces.

Not only is he the man behind iconic comedic characters such as Avid Merrion, but he also created and starred in Bo Selecta (Ch4 2002-2009).

As his alter ego Keith Lemon, Leigh has presented numerous shows for ITV including Through the Keyhole (2013-2019), Lemon La Vida Loca (2012-2013), The Keith Lemon Sketch Show (2015-2016), Sing If You Can, Keith and Paddy’s Picture Show (2015-2018), Shopping with Keith Lemon (2019-2024) and more than 26 series of the multi-award winning Celebrity Juice (2008-2022), as well as writing and staring in Keith Lemon: The Film (2012 Lionsgate).

Most recently, he has starred in the hit movie Rocket Man, and won The Great Celebrity Bake Off.

Our headliner follows a full afternoon of music, kicking off at 11.45am with local band Sneaker and featuring tributes to Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter, The Police, Lewis Capaldi and AC/DC.

Away from the main stage, there is a vast range of free family fun in the activity zone and Fort Gardens.

Ahead of the event, Cllr Deborah Croxton, Gravesham Borough Council’s cabinet member for community and leisure said: “It’s a real pleasure to welcome Leigh Francis and the rest of our tremendous acts to the Prom for what is our headline event of the year.

“We know people are finding the cost of living a challenge at the moment, so to be able to invite our community and visitors from further afield to our town for huge free day out is important to us.

“We look forward to enjoying a great day out with everyone.”
