4 Solo haus housing pods in a row

Eight new SoloHaus homes have been handed over to Gravesham Borough Council by The Hill Group, providing safe, secure accommodation for people who have experienced homelessness in the borough.

The fully furnished homes offer more than just a roof over someone’s head. They provide the stability, privacy and dignity people need to begin rebuilding their lives and represent another important milestone in the partnership between Gravesham Borough Council and The Hill Group.

Delivered through the Gravesham Community Investment Partnership, the homes reflect a shared commitment to creating lasting positive change for local people. Alongside delivering new homes and regeneration across the borough, the partnership is helping to provide practical solutions that support some of Gravesham’s most vulnerable residents.

Designed specifically for single residents, each SoloHaus home arrives fully furnished and ready to move into, creating a safe and comfortable place to call home. Built to Future Homes Standards, the homes are highly energy efficient and have been designed to provide high-quality accommodation for decades to come.

The homes have been donated as part of The Hill Group’s Foundation 200 programme, a £15 million initiative that will provide 200 modular homes to councils and organisations across the country working to tackle homelessness.

The official handover took place last Thursday and was attended by representatives from Gravesham Borough Council, The Hill Group and partners involved in delivering the project.

Councillor John Burden, Leader of Gravesham Borough Council, said:

“Our partnership with The Hill Group has always been about more than development; it is about investing in the future of Gravesham and the people who live here. The gift of these eight SoloHaus homes will make an immediate and meaningful difference to individuals who have experienced some of the most difficult circumstances. Everyone deserves a safe place to call home, and these homes will provide residents with the stability and support they need to move forward with their lives.

I would like to thank The Hill Group for their generosity and commitment to our community. This initiative demonstrates the positive impact that can be achieved when organisations work together with a shared purpose, and I look forward to everything we will continue to achieve through our partnership.”

Andy Hill OBE, Founder and Group Chief Executive of The Hill Group, said:

“Gravesham is a borough we are proud to support, and our partnership with the Council reflects a shared commitment to improving outcomes for local people. The delivery of these eight SoloHaus homes is a practical demonstration of that commitment, providing safe and secure accommodation for individuals who need it most. We hope these homes give residents the stability and confidence to take the next steps towards a more secure future. We are grateful to Gravesham Borough Council and everyone involved in bringing this initiative to life, and look forward to continuing our work together.”

For the people moving into these homes, the impact is immediate: a front door, a safe place to live and the opportunity to build a more secure future.
