A new play area on Constable Road and Rembrandt Drive Northfleet has opened.

The play area was officially opened by Cllr Jenny Wallace, Gravesham Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing Services on Tuesday 9 August.

The new play area is another excellent outdoor space for local residents and their families to enjoy.

The playground is the final part of the council owned development in Constable Road and Rembrandt Drive which saw the construction of 7 bungalows with private gardens and off-street parking.

The affordable rented homes have been designed to be safe and accessible to meet the current and future care needs of households on the Gravesham housing register.

Cllr Wallace said: "Providing new council homes is imperative to Gravesham, and I am so pleased that six of the bungalows are already occupied and the seventh will welcome its new tenant in the next couple of weeks.

“With all new housing developments it is good to be able to provide communal space for residents, especially for the younger members of the households.

“'There was a slight delay with the completion of this play area because of equipment supply problems. It is terrific that we have now been able to open it for the use of all the local children, during the long summer school holiday, and to see how well used it was at the official opening last Monday.

“And of course, it is free to use for children from the wider local community, not just those from our new homes.”
