Gravesham Youth Council (GYC) is a dynamic and engaging platform that empowers young people in the Gravesham area to have a voice in their community.
It acts as a bridge between youth and local authorities. It provides opportunities for young individuals to discuss issues that matter to them, contribute to decision-making , and work on projects that can positively impact their community.
Through meetings, events, and collaborative efforts, the council aims to foster leadership skills, encourage civic involvement, and promote a sense of belonging and responsibility among its members.
GYC is a group of young people ages between 11-17 across the borough who meet monthly. As a member of the youth council, your involvement and input are expected and valued.
Some of our current projects
Here are just some of the projects we are currently focused on:
- Love your Borough - We visit different locations around Borough and find out what they offer to young people.
- You become the youth voice - Various organisations and members of the council will keep you informed about local strategies and initiatives
- Engage in group discussions about the future of Gravesham for youth - devise strategies to establish new spaces and groups that will serve the interests of all young individuals.
