Nature and climate change
Nature conservation and reducing carbon are equally important. Our entire eco-system is surrounded by the environment and nature that lives within.
Our mission is to protect and enhance the natural environment, preserve biodiversity, and promote sustainable practices to ensure a greener and healthier community for present and future generations.
Wildlife is good for us – it can make us healthier and happier. Contributing to increasing biodiversity is also important as we strive to achieve Net Zero by 2030. Whether you live in urban Gravesend, Northfleet or among Gravesham’s amazing countryside outside the towns, there are many ways you can give nature a helping hand.
You can find useful resources which can help make a positive change.

Hedgehog Highway
We’ve been working with the North West Kent Countryside Project to improve the Gravesham environment for hedgehogs.
You can help by creating a hedgehog highway. As hedgehogs roam up to 2km a night, access through your garden could be vital to their survival. Garden fences can stop hedgehogs being able to find the resources they need to survive. Get involved with the hedgehog street project.

Tree planting
We can all make a few small steps
- Making sure the right trees are planted in the right places.
- Boosting our wild species.
- Reviving our native trees.
The benefits to nature and the climate would be huge.
