If you’re finding it difficult to pay your Council Tax, contact us as soon as possible. The earlier you get in touch, the more we can do to help.
Council Tax is normally paid over 10 monthly instalments (April -January), but if you contact us we can spread payments to March to reduce your monthly amount.
Set up an affordable payment plan
We may be able to agree a payment plan that works for you.
To help us understand what you can afford, complete the income and spending form.
If you have previous arrears
Your current year’s bill is always the priority. If you’re paying arrears and cannot manage both, please contact us. We may be able to adjust your payments.
If you have received a summons
Your summons includes suggested instalments. If you can pay these, you do not need to contact us.
If you cannot pay the arrangement on your summons, complete the income and spending form so we can look at an alternative plan.
The court cannot set up payment arrangements, so you need to contact us before this date.
Ways to pay
There are several ways you can pay your Council Tax, including Direct Debit, online payments, and automated phone payments.
If you are struggling financially, making smaller or more frequent payments through one of these methods may help you stay on track.
