Training

Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 employers have a duty to provide a safe place of work and a safe and competent workforce. This is done by providing adequate information, instruction, training and supervision of staff.

For businesses to comply with this legislation, the Level 2 Award for Health and Safety in the Workplace provides staff with the necessary training. However, management should consider more advanced levels, which are not currently offered by us.

We try to run one course each year (depending on demand). It consists of a full day course and concludes with a one hour multi choice exam. The course book and exam paper may be provided in different languages if requested in advance. The cost per student is £55 (inc. VAT).

The course covers key areas such as:

  • Health & Safety Law
  • Workplace Health, Safety and Welfare
  • The Workplace and Workplace Equipment
  • Risk Assessment
  • Manual Handling
  • Hazardous Substances
  • Ergonomics and Workstation Design
  • Transport and Vehicles
  • Noise and Vibration
