About the role

We are offering an exciting 18–24 month apprenticeship within our Building & Facilities Department. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience while working towards a Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Facilities Management.

Reporting to the Facilities and Contracts Manager, you’ll play a key role in keeping our services running smoothly. From supporting contractors and managing databases to organising meetings and ensuring compliance across our sites, you’ll learn the essentials of facilities management while building strong administrative skills.

What you’ll be doing

  • Assist with day-to-day office tasks including photocopying, scanning, filing, and answering calls.
  • Support contractors and maintain accurate records in our systems.
  • Help organise meetings and ensure compliance across council sites.
  • Gain practical experience in facilities management while studying for your qualification.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Eager to learn, with strong basic office skills and confidence using computers.
  • Organised and detail-oriented, able to follow procedures accurately.
  • Customer-focused, with a good telephone manner and understanding of confidentiality.
  • Committed to development, willing to work towards an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and ideally experienced in customer service.

Qualifications: Minimum of 5 GCSEs (9-4 or equivalent), including Maths and English.
