The Role

To unlock and lock the public conveniences and carry out a full safety check of the building as part of the opening and closing process.

Cleaning tasks to include however are not limited to cleaning toilets, mopping floors, cleaning, cleaning and polishing of fixtures and fittings, changing bins, unblocking toilets, replacing toilet rolls, hand towels and soap as required.

To ensure the facilities are fit for use and remain free from hazards. To report all maintenance and repair issues to the Cleaning Supervisor and/or Facilities Manager, including the reporting of any Health and Safety concerns.

To ensure fixtures and fittings including but not subject to cubicle doors, toilet seats, hand towel and toilet roll dispensers are inspected daily and any faults found are reported to the Cleaning Supervisor and/or Facilities Manager.

To undertake all training arranged, reasonable to position. Any other work as can be reasonably required for the daily operation of the facilities and Council managed buildings.

To effectively dispose of waste and recycle effectively where possible. To ensure that sharps and needles are disposed with safely and to communicate sharps and needle findings to the Facilities Manager.

The post holder may be required to assist with the cleaning of the public toilets during council run events, including evenings and weekends.

The post holder will need to be flexible and be able to commit to working a variety of shifts across 7 days a week. including weekends, bank holidays and evenings.

About you

  • Previous cleaning experience
  • Good Time keeper, reliable
  • Good at working as a team member but can also work alone
  • Communicates well and has experience of dealing with the general public
  • Full clean UK manual driving licence
  • To exercise a good understanding and practise in COSHH and Health and Safety practices
