If you are looking to dispose of unwanted fridges and freezers, we offer a collection service from domestic properties within the borough.

It costs £20 per item and collections usually take place on a Wednesday.

We do not offer this service to businesses.

Book a fridge/freezer collection

You can book and pay for your fridge/freezer collection online. The form takes around 5 minutes to complete and once you've added the items you want collected, you can select a collection date that suits you. You can even book a collection date up to six weeks in advance.

The form will ask you to:

  • provide your name and address
  • select the items you want collected
  • select a collection date
  • provide your payment details

You can pay using your debit or credit card.

Please read the Bulky Waste Collection - Terms and Conditions before booking a collection.

Items we collect

  • Fridges
  • Freezers
  • Combined fridge/freezer
  • Chest freezers

What you need to do on collection day

Items should be out for collection by 7am on the day and will be collected by 5pm. You don't have to be in when we collect your items.

Please ensure that fridges/freezers are defrosted and clear of all food. They should be complete, leaving any doors and shelves in place.

Your items need to be left in your normal collection place (usually at the front of your property). This should be the most accessible point to the road, but not on public land. Our crews are not insured to enter your property so please do not ask them to collect items from inside your property (including your shed or garage).

If you live in a flat, the crew will normally collect items from the bin store.
