About the Role

We are looking for a responsible and proactive Caretaker to join our Building and Facilities. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth, safe and efficient operation of the Civic Centre, supporting staff, visitors and the wider community. You will be responsible for keeping things running, completing daily tasks to ensure the building operates smoothly, carry out planned and reactive maintenance and repairs, from small fixes to larger repair tasks, ensuring defects are dealt with promptly and reported via the Building and Facilities Service Desk.

You’ll be the first to unlock the doors each morning and the last to secure them at night, ensuring everything runs safely and functions effectively. From preparing meeting rooms for important decisions to stepping in during emergencies, this is a role where no two days are the same — and where your reliability, energy, and pride in a job well done will make a real impact.

About You

  • UK Full Manual Driving License
  • First Aid Qualification (Desirable)
  • General handyman skills, ability to carry out, repair and maintenance tasks
  • Ability to work on both own initiative and as part of a team
  • Experience of working in a similar role
