The role

Are you passionate about driving economic growth and attracting high-value investment to a dynamic and ambitious district? Do you thrive on building strong partnerships with developers and regional stakeholders? If so, we want to hear from you.

We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Inward Investment Manager to join our Inclusive Growth Team. You will lead on developing and delivering the council’s 2040 Strategy and Invest in Gravesham website – promoting the district as a prime location for new business growth and sustainable development. You’ll be responsible for identifying investment opportunities, engaging and working across both the public and private sectors. The successful candidate will have strong all round communication skills to build positive working relationships within the organisation as well as with external partners, tenants, and other Council departments. The structure of local government could be changing over the next few years, and this may offer opportunities to work across a larger area. If you would like to join a team making a real difference at this exciting time, we'd love to hear from you

Interviews will be held in person at the Civic Centre, Gravesend between 29 and 31 October.

About you

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An extensive working knowledge and proven track record in inward investment and strategies to attract and retain inward investment
  • Knowledge of funding sources and financial instruments to support investment projects, including public and private sector funding
  • Knowledge of the commercial property development sector, including relationships with developers, agents, and occupiers
  • Experience in developing and managing lead generation strategies and coordinating inward investment promotional activities, including enquiry management and conversion
  • Working with and influencing stakeholders and partners from a wide variety of backgrounds, often in multi-agency business support environments
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
