The role

We are a DSO where we maintain our own housing stock of approx. 5700 properties in the Gravesend area. We are looking for an Electrician to join the team to maintain and install all elements in the Electrical field to a high standard. This would include the periodic test and inspections of our council housing stock and commercial three phase boards.

Main responsibilities

The successful candidate should be able to manage their time well, work in a team or under their own initiative. GBC carry out emergency repairs on Electrical installations where a make safe and repairs are carried out to leave the tenant safe. Ability to find an issue (fault find) in a reasonable time frame and rectify the issue either there and then or by writing a report so the next person is aware of what is required.

Essential qualifications/experience

  • City and guilds or equivalent in Electrical

  • Test and inspect 2391 or equivalent

  • Minimum of 10 year’s experience  

  • IT literate working an automated appointment system including report writing of potential follow works and what may be required including materials. Work on an iPad for updating test results.

  • Experience of working within in the Electrical industry.

  • Demonstrable ability to make decisions in a timely manner.

  • Excellent team player, with enthusiasm for change and development.

  • Full driving licence

Desirable qualifications/experience

  • EV charging qualification

  • PV panels experience of working on them.
