  • Salary: £24,803 to £25,186 per annum plus contractual overtime (inclusive of allowances)
  • Location: Brookvale Depot, Northfleet
  • Status: Permanent
  • Hours: 37 hours plus 2 hours contractual overtime per week
  • Closing date: 17 December 2025

The role

  • To drive a mechanical sweeper ensuring the roads around the Borough are kept clean and tidy.
  • To ensure the vehicle is maintained for daily use
  • To ensure the vehicle is washed out daily.
  • The driver is responsible for keeping the brushes on the vehicle to a set length, once the brush is low they will need to change it.
  • The driver is responsible for doing all walk round checks.
  • The driver will have a set weekly schedule, but ad hoc jobs may come up from time to time.
  • Full training will be given on vehicle maintenance and wash down.
  • To carry out other duties as required

Essential qualifications/experience

  • Full clean driving licence with C1 entitlement
  • Up to date CPC card
  • Knowledge of the Borough
  • To work independently or as part of a team
  • Worked in a similar role is desirable.
  • Have experience in driving vehicles up to 7.5 tonne
