Northfleet grants

A range of grants are now available for Northfleet creatives.

We are part of the Northfleet Place Partnership Programme, a partnership made up of Gravesham Borough Council, Creative Estuary, and Ebbsfleet Development Corporation aiming to increase the creative and cultural infrastructure of Northfleet.

The funding grants will be between £1,000 and £10,000 to support organisations, individuals or groups who are or have previously delivered creative activity in Northfleet, Kent. We want to support local initiatives and successful programmes to continue delivering activity for Northfleet communities.

This grant programme is for Creative organisations, individuals and groups. We are open to hearing from community organisations or groups who have a track record of working with arts and culture to deliver creative projects or activities.

The funding must be used to support projects, activities or programmes being delivered in 2025. Projects must be completed and fully reported on by 31st October 2025.

Development Grants (up to £1,000)

This grant is available to people based in Northfleet who are interested in, or already pursuing careers in, the creative industries, to improve their creative and cultural abilities. The grant will support them to develop new skills, invest in their practice or ensure they are better equipped to be successful creative professionals. We are providing 10 grants of up to £1000 to creative practitioners who are looking to progress their professional creative ambitions. Successful applicants will use the funds to cover the costs of practical needs relating to their professional development and creative business ambitions. Types of activity that this fund will support include (but not limited to);

  • Creative professionals looking to develop a new skill that would complement & improve their practice / business.
  • Existing skilled professionals, who don’t work in the creative industries but want to explore transferring their skills to the creative industries.
  • Hobbyists who want to explore their professional potential.
  • Those who have had creative training or previously worked in the creative industries but no longer work in the industry and would like to return.
  • Covering the costs of equipment, materials, software, assets, training, workspace or access to specialist studios, that will improve professional outcomes or business potential.
  • Those who would like to shift their practice to be more sustainable.

This grant programme is for individuals, sole traders and unincorporated groups.

The programme will have three rounds over the next 9 months, allowing as many of Northfleet’s creative individuals to have an opportunity to apply.

Northfleet Creative Development Grant information pack.

Impact Grants (£5,000- £10,000)

Successful applicants will be enabled to increase their capacity to deliver creative activities for the people of Northfleet.

We are providing grants of between £5,000 and £10,000 to support organisations, individuals or groups who are or have previously delivered creative activity in Northfleet, Kent. We want to support local initiatives and successful programmes to continue delivering activity for Northfleet communities. This funding can be used to:

  • Sustain existing projects in the Northfleet area, enabling them to have greater reach, impact, run for longer or undertake some development to improve them.
  • Support projects that have previously been delivered and were successful with good engagement from local people, be redelivered or return to Northfleet. We’re happy for these projects to have reflected on learnings from previous presentations and make changes based on the needs of the project and/or the community.
  • Enable organisations or groups with a strong track record of delivering in Northfleet to present new work, the work must reflect learnings from previous projects or demonstrate community demand.

Activities must be public facing with an offer for local people to engage in creativity.

Enterprise Grants (up to £3,000)

We are providing grants of up to £3,000 to fund the development of creative businesses, accompanied by a 6-month programme of negotiated support including 1-to-1 mentorship from industry professionals, access to training and skills development. We want to ensure Northfleet’s creative businesses are equipped to grow and manage future opportunities. 

This grant programme is for Start Ups (practitioners/freelancers interested in starting a creative business) or Early-stage Companies, (operating for 3 years or less).

The programme will run from March 2025 to September 2025.
