Shed requirements
As stated in clause 5 in our rules and regulations, all tenants must ensure their shed(s) are no bigger than 6 x 4 x 6.56 feet (length x width x height)
Points to remember
- Before installing your shed, you must contact the allotments assistant via email seeking permission with the measurements of the shed. Once confirmed, you can go ahead with the installation, and then it will be measured as soon as it is installed. We suggest that each shed is supported by a platform ensuring it is secure and protected.
- There are no restrictions on how many sheds you can have on a plot, but you must ensure they meet our measurement stipulations.
- Glass is not permitted on site, so please do not use it. You will be asked to remove it immediately.
- The use of any type of CCTV / camera equipment is not permitted – any such devices will be immediately removed.
- As part of our monthly maintenance checks, we have the right to access your shed/s if required. If your shed is locked, then we will contact you to make arrangements to enter.
Existing tenants
For existing tenants, if you have installed a shed pre-2020 then you must try and rectify your shed to ensure it falls within the size requirements. If you have glass in your shed, then it must be removed immediately and replaced with either plastic or Perspex. However, if you’re a long-term tenant and you have recently installed an oversized shed, then you must reduce it immediately.
Tenants that have inherited sheds
For tenants that have inherited sheds that are over the size requirements, then you must also try and make the changes by reducing the size. If you’re struggling to do so or need assistance, then please contact the office. If the shed includes glass, then this must be removed.
New and upcoming tenants
All tenants that have installed a shed since 2020 must ensure their sheds are reduced and fall within the sizes as agreed.
