We have seven car parks in Gravesend. Six of these are pay and display car parks, where charges apply Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm (including Bank Holidays).
How to pay for parking
You can pay using coins at the ticket machines (no change given). We also offer the option to pay for your parking with your mobile using the RingGo app. For more details see our Pay for parking with your mobile page.
Disabled badge holders (Blue badge)
Disabled badge holders are allowed to park for free within any bay in our pay and display car parks, and without time limit, but must have a Blue Badge on show. However, disabled badge holders are not permitted to park in Lord Street Car Park.
For a list of disabled badge holder only bays, both on street and in our car parks, or for information on how to apply for a blue badge, please see our Disabled parking and bays page.
Oversized vehicles
Our car parks are generally for private vehicles that carry no more than seven passengers. Some of our car parks have height barriers. In others, the size and/or layout of the car park is not suitable for oversized vehicles.
Motorcycle parking
Motorcycles can park in any standard pay and display bay in any of our eight pay and display car parks free of charge. This does not include Lord Street Temporary Car Park as this is for season permit holders only.
We ask that motorists park considerately so that two motorcycles can fit in one bay. We also have a motorcycle parking area at the northern end of Parrock Street Car Park, next to the disabled bays.
Motorcycles will still receive a parking ticket for parking in breach of the restrictions displayed on the tariff boards. For example, parking in a disabled bay without a disabled badge or parking outside bay markings.
Safer Parking scheme
The following car parks have been awarded the Park Mark Safer Parking standard:
- Parrock Street
- Milton Place
- Rathmore Road
- Gurdwara
- West Street
