Recycling bin

Last updated on: 09-Apr-2021

1. Overview

Your 240 litre recycling bin is black with a green lid. Your recycling is collected every other week. It will always be collected on the same day of the week as your black sacks and food waste.

Bank Holidays may affect your collection date, so please view our Bin collection day checker for guidance.

Please remember to put your recycling bin out by 7am on your collection day.

Approximately 6,500 tonnes of recycling is collected from Gravesham households each year. This goes to a Materials Recycling Facility in Crayford to be sorted.

Once the materials are sorted they are sent for reprocessing, to be made into products such as cameras, irons or new food tins.

What goes in your recycling bin?

See our what can/can't be recycled page for a full breakdown, including our handy A-Z of recycling item checker.
