Changes to online payments


From Thursday 06 October, you may be subject to an additional security check when making a card payment via our website. Dependent on your card provider, you may be asked to log onto your mobile banking app or provide a code which you receive via text or similar.

There are many different reasons payments are made to us. Please follow the steps for the required service from the below list. Please note there isn't an overall account for all services as they all use different systems.

You can make a payment online for the following services using our online payment form:

  • Business rates
  • Council tax payments
  • Council invoices
  • Fixed Penalty Notices (e.g. litter or dog fouling fines)
  • Rent
  • Housing Benefit Overpayments

Direct Debit

Direct Debit is a really easy way of making regular payments to us. You can set up a Direct Debit to pay for the following services:

Standing order

When setting up a standing order, include the amount, reference, when and how often you want the payment to come out.

Post Office and Pay Point 

There are various Pay Point outlets and Post Offices across the borough where you can make payments. The barcode on the front of your bill will be scanned and you will be given a receipt. You can pay by cash, debit card or cheque. Use the Pay Point Locator  to find your nearest Pay Point outlet. Please note that it can take up to six working days before your payment will reach your account.
