Rubbish bin

Last updated on: 09-Apr-2021

1. Overview

Most homes in the borough will use a black 180 litre rubbish bin which is collected once every two weeks.

You can find out what day your rubbish and recycling is collected on by visiting our Bin collection day checker.

Remember to put your bin out by 7am on your collection day. We will only collect what is in the bin. Any bags left next to the bin will not be collected.

Bank Holidays may affect your collection date, so please view our Bin collection day checker for guidance.

Approximately 16,000 tonnes of rubbish is collected from Gravesham households each year. All of this household waste is sent to an Energy from Waste Plant at Allington in Kent to be incinerated and used to generate electricity.
